PowerPoint presentations in final exams

Yesterday I delivered an oral presentation comparing and contrasting Huck Finn and Holden Caufield for my EDI II exam. Again, we have to use a PowerPoint presentation to illustrate what we presented.

Today, I started thinking about how these visual aids (PowerPoint or Prezi presentations) can help you improve your talk by making it more interesting and appealing, or they can ruin your whole presentation!

In the case of the one that I prepared for EDI II, it was praised by the teachers on the board, but that was not the case with the one that we (Aldana V. Marcia and me) prepared for EDI I exam, which was highly criticised.

Let me share with you the one that we used for EDI I exam, so you can give me your opinion.

After all, visual aids are supposed to make a strong impact on the audience, don't they?

  1. I tried to analyse the P.P.Presentation, but I don't think I could do it without the context, that is you presenting the topic. Sometimes (I think) presentations that are not so visually attractive are counterbalanced by an eloquent speech. Who knows! This same presentation could be perfectly functional for one kind of speech. Of course, if one of the aims of the EDI's exam is using attractive visual aids, then it could be improved!

    1. Yes, you're right! The images just illustrated what we were saying. The problem was including in one slide Peron's and Hitler's pictures together. I didn't tell this before to see if anybody will discover "the mistake".
